The period of the Republic of China is a special period in the history of our country, connecting link between the preceding and the following. Under it, bearing the ancient and today. But there is such a just short of 30 years of great turmoil, furniture and interior design is a fusion of Chinese and western of the Republic of China, formed its own style. Through the study of these problems, we can provide reference for the similar problem, and is now gradually rise of style restaurant, hotel, household design to provide the reference of the Republic of China, to better inheriting the national culture formed in the process of development. Based on grounded theory-structure modeling method, the structural equation modeling method, principal component analysis (pca) method and color model analysis method and other methods, we analyze the republic of China furniture material characteristics with the typical case of metal and rattan, and the republic of China furniture and interior layout and colour characteristics. We get the following results. (1) The republic of China metal furniture class differences and reaching and the whole mechanism of its root causes. (2) The republic of China image features of rattan furniture and the structural equation modeling (SEM) of its eastern and western origin. (3) Equilibrium characteristics, angle characteristics, collocation characteristics, functional characteristics and its principal component root factors of the republic of China furniture and interior overall layout. (4) The republic of China furniture and interior overall colour characteristics and its root causes with the perspective for building types and constituent elements. By analyzing the results, the following main conclusions are drawn in this paper. (1) The furniture and interior design of the Republic of China in class characteristics, location features, style and decorative features of overall have distinct era characteristics. (2) Behind these deep characteristics, there are economic root,the pursuit of beautiful things root, Chinese and western cultural overlap root of space and time, aesthetic revolt roots, and so on. (3) The furniture and interior design of the Republic of China typical characteristics and its roots , have important guiding significance for contemporary design: One is to recognize the essence of the design style of the Republic of China, the pitfalls of the Republic of China style "profiling"; The second is balancing the needs of different classes, especially should attach great importance to the requirements of lower and middle classes;Third is the study of the Republic of China the design characteristics of match well of Chinese and western, make with today's contemporary Chinese design style. This paper made the following main innovation points. (1)In furniture design, through the analysis on the material of metal and rattan furniture in the Republic of China for the first time, we discover the neglected metal furniture and rattan furniture characteristics and causes of the Republic of China. Specifically, include the following three aspects of innovation. First of all, during the period of the Republic of China of metal furniture and rattan furniture is always not be regarded as characteristic of the Republic of China furniture, but during the period of the Republic of China has been the existence of metal furniture, during the period of the Republic of China and the emergence of a large number of rattan furniture, but also an unprecedented phenomenon, is the embodiment of the technology of the Republic of China and foreign communication. Second, through research, we found that behind the metal furniture of the republic of China, the design style mainly includes industrial aesthetic style and modern style. And we also found the obvious class differences in metal furniture design of the republic of China. But the class differences of metal furniture weaker than wooden furniture, and it show certain approach in specification design, art design, function design and so on. Third, in respect of rattan furniture source of the Republic of China, in a previous study has always been a mystery. Through a lot of research, found that during the period of the Republic of China in a large number of rattan furniture, mainly comes from western rather than Chinese. But the real starting point of western rattan furniture, is originated in China. To previous research institute no conclusions: traditional Chinese rattan furniture in addition to the continuation of time direct influence of rattan furniture, also through the western space-time refraction effect of rattan furniture, coupled with the late western made-up pure western-style rattan furniture, combination of the three channels era of rattan furniture style characteristic of the Republic of China. (2)In interior design, through the analysis on the furniture and interior overall layout and color designin the Republic of China for the first time, we discover the neglected characteristics and causes of furniture and interior on colour and layout in the Republic of China. Specifically, include the following two aspects of innovation. First, one of the core work of interior design is furniture layout in interior space, and previous studies just ignored the study of indoor furniture layout style of the Republic of China.
